Who is responsible for your information
Techtoniks LLC, a company incorporated in Florida, United States, operates Worduino and is responsible for the personal information described here. This policy covers worduino.com, our designated preview website, and the Worduino iOS and Android apps. Contact hello@techtoniks.xyz about privacy or your information. The Techtoniks corporate website has its own privacy policy.
Guest play and device saves
You can play without an account. Your settings, tutorial status, downloaded boards, unfinished game, scores and detailed run history are stored on your device. Run history can include the words you played, their scores and when a run ended. We do not publish that history or send it as advertising or analytics data. Downloading the app or a board connects to our hosting providers, which process network information needed to deliver and secure the service.
Optional accounts and cloud saves
When you use a cloud account, Apple or Google authenticates you and Firebase Authentication processes the provider identifier, Firebase account identifier, provider-supplied email/profile information when available, and security information such as IP address and sign-in activity. On iOS, Game Center may authenticate independently for Apple platform features; on Android, Play Games may do the same for Google platform features. These platform identities do not choose or replace your Worduino cloud account. Worduino does not ask you to create or send us a password. Apple can provide a private relay email address if you choose that option. We do not request access to Google contacts, inboxes, or files.
Our Cloudflare database stores an internal account identifier, its connection to your Firebase account, status, locale, creation/activity times and supported cloud progress, including completed boards, best scores and stars. Earlier versions may have stored preferences, rewards, submitted runs and verification receipts. Current detailed run history stays on the device where you played. Signing in can associate locally earned progress with your account to save it across devices. Preview and production use separate game databases and share the Firebase authentication service.
Support and essential service information
If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and anything you choose to attach. Please do not send passwords, authentication tokens, payment details or identity documents unless we explain why a specific verification step is necessary.
Our hosting and authentication providers process connection and security data to operate their services. We use bounded operational information, such as error counts, content availability and aggregate event totals, to keep Worduino working. The current game does not need precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, health data or an advertising identifier.
Purposes and legal bases
We use account and progress data to provide the account and cloud-save features you request. Where European or UK data protection law applies, our basis is performance of our agreement with you. Essential security and reliability processing serves our legitimate interests in protecting accounts, preventing abuse and maintaining the game, balanced against your rights. We handle support and privacy requests to provide assistance and meet legal obligations. Where consent is required, we request it before that processing. Reading this policy or accepting the Terms is not permission for optional tracking. We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you solely through automated processing.
Storage and cookies
Worduino uses browser or native app storage for saves and preferences and caches public game files for offline play. Firebase uses session storage and, where needed, authentication cookies. These support functionality you request. Clearing browser/app storage, uninstalling, or using Settings → Clear local data can remove device-only information; export anything you want to keep first. Your device backup settings may retain a copy. Signing out is not deletion, and clearing local data does not delete your cloud account.
Advertising and tracking
On worduino.com, Google Analytics 4 runs only after you choose “Allow analytics.” It measures page visits without board IDs, account information, search terms or game history. You can decline or withdraw at any time in Settings → Privacy & analytics. We respect Global Privacy Control by declining analytics. Your choice does not affect play. Browser storage remembers the choice.
In versions where ads are enabled, Google Mobile Ads may provide interstitials at eligible board transitions and an optional rewarded placement. Google may receive or generate SDK identifiers and app, device, connection, ad-request, diagnostic and consent signals needed to initialize, provide, measure or show an ad. Requests are non-personalized and do not use Worduino account or game-service data for targeting. Identifier controls block IDFA, AAID and Apple AdServices identifiers, and ATT tracking is not enabled; these controls do not promise that every SDK identifier or initialization signal is absent. Google UMP consent eligibility is checked before Worduino starts, loads or shows an ad, and available privacy choices can be reopened in the app’s Settings screen. If consent is denied or withdrawn, an ad is unavailable, or no ad is returned, play continues immediately. Board-entry interstitials appear only before a replay/archive/new board or between completed boards; they never appear on the first Daily entry, an unfinished resume or during active play. A rewarded ad can provide one local thirty-minute period without board-entry interstitials when the reward is earned; no reward is granted for a cancelled, denied, failed or unavailable ad. Declining optional processing does not prevent guest play.
Who receives information
Google Firebase provides authentication. Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, server processing, queues and database storage. Our email service processes support correspondence. Providers receive information needed to provide their services, subject to their applicable data-processing terms and privacy protections. We require service providers handling personal information for us to protect it consistently with applicable law and this policy.
We may disclose limited information when legally required, to establish or defend legal claims, to protect people or the service, or during a business transfer subject to appropriate privacy protections. We do not publish email addresses, account identities or private run histories, or give advertisers your email address, password, account export or played-word history.
International processing
Techtoniks is based in the United States. Our providers operate internationally, so information may be processed in the United States and other countries with different privacy laws. Where required, transfers must be covered by applicable data-processing terms and recognized safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data. Using Worduino does not waive your local privacy rights.
Retention and deletion
Device saves remain until you clear them or the device removes them. Detailed run history is bounded, so older entries can be replaced. Cloud progress remains while your account is active, until you request deletion; we do not erase it simply because you take a break.
Deletion removes personal application records from the active game database. Firebase identity deletion is a separate step in the same flow; the app tells you if that step needs a retry. A minimal deletion receipt and a one-way identity marker remain to prevent old sessions or retries from recreating a deleted account. They contain no email address, password or played-word history. Restricted provider backups and security records may remain until their configured retention expires. We do not use backups for normal gameplay and must reapply deletion requests if a backup is restored.
Support correspondence is retained to resolve the request and any related dispute or legal obligation, then deleted. Legal preservation may require limited records to remain longer, restricted to that purpose. Contact us about a specific record or retention requirement.
Your choices and rights
Account → Export account data provides game account records and detailed history available on the current device. Account → Delete account starts permanent deletion and may require recent sign-in for security. You can also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or a portable copy by emailing hello@techtoniks.xyz, including when you cannot access the app. We may need proportionate identity verification. Never send your password.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to know about processing and disclosures, withdraw consent, opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising, use an authorized agent and appeal a denied request. We honor applicable rights without discriminatory treatment. We respond within the time required by local law and explain any permitted extension or denial. Reply with “Privacy appeal” to request a review. You may complain to your local data protection authority, including an EEA authority or the UK Information Commissioner. US state rights depend on applicable law and its thresholds.
Children and families
Worduino is a general-audience word puzzle. Guest play does not require a name, email address or account. We do not request a date of birth or identity documents to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child when applicable law requires parental consent unless that consent has been obtained. Parents and guardians may contact us at hello@techtoniks.xyz to ask about, review or request deletion of a child’s information as provided by law. In versions where ads are enabled, their non-personalized Google SDK data flow and available privacy choices follow the Advertising and tracking section above; an app-store content rating does not replace privacy consent required by law.
Security and policy changes
We use encrypted network connections, authenticated account requests, restricted database access and separate preview/production game databases. No storage or transmission method is risk-free. Report suspected security issues privately to hello@techtoniks.xyz.
We may update this policy as Worduino changes. The effective date identifies the current version. We provide appropriate notice of material changes and request consent where required before new processing begins.
